Week 1 - Blogging

The big ideas: Blogging is a tool to enhance classroom writing, participation and reflection. Blogging is a tool for connected learning, conversation and developing learning communities.
This week's task:
Start a blog to record some of your experiences throughout the course. Create a post about one of the following:
- Your experience setting up your blog.
- Something that you are doing with your students.
- What you know about blog use in classrooms.
- Feel free to blog about something different!

Week 2 - Social Bookmarking

The big idea: Save your bookmarks online and expand your network! Work smarter, not harder, by leveraging the power of the network through social bookmarking.

This week's task:
Sign-up to a social bookmarking service. Install the browser plugins. Start tagging your favourite websites. Discover and add some people to your network!

Week 3 - Developing a Personal Learning Network with RSS (Really Simple Syndication) and Home Page Tools

The big ideas: We can make connections and aggregate content far beyond the four walls of the classroom. Your own personal learning network can be formed from educators all over the world.

This week's task:
Sign-up for a RSS reader (like Google Reader) or sign-up for a personal home page (like Pageflakes). Start adding RSS feeds from your favourite websites and bloggers. Discover and add to your personal learning network!

Week 4 - Collaborative Document Creation including Wikis

Big ideas: Collaboration is one of the key skills of the 21st century. Web2.0 tools make collaborative document creation and content creation relatively simple.

This week's task:
Sign-up for an account on http://wetpaint.com. Contribute to the wiki on http://????.wetpaint.com (Create a course wiki). Have a look at the way wikis and online documents are being used in classrooms. Add your thoughts to the forums.
(As usual, you are encouraged to blog what you have been learning!)

Week 5 - Digital Story telling with web 2.0 tools

The big ideas: Digital story telling encourages technological fluency, literacy skills and higher order thinking. It's also very engaging and fun!

This week's task:
Create a simple digital story about your class or school using web2.0 tools!
(As always, feel free to blog about your experiences! In fact, see if you can 'embed' your story into your blog!)
